Supporting Your Child - ADHD
What is ADHD?
ADHD is a neurodevelopmental difference that affects how some children focus, regulate their behaviour and manage everyday tasks.
Cherbourg's approach to ADHD
We aim to create an ADHD-friendly learning environment where all pupils can thrive. We work closely with families, use evidence-informed strategies, and focus on understanding each child's individual strengths and needs. We observe pupils' attention, self-regulation, organisation and response to
routines and classroom expectations.
If a pupil is experiencing difficulties with focus, impulsivity or emotional
regulation, we work with families to explore what support may be helpful.
Our ADHD poster offers helpful information about ADHD, including common traits and the support strategies we use to help pupils thrive in school. Download the poster below to learn more.
