Science at Cherbourg provides the foundations for understanding the world around us, helps children to satisfy their curiosity and dispels scientific misconceptions. It is covered through discrete or cross-curricular topics and continuous studies that last all year. Children are taught to ask and answer questions, make accurate observations and measurements and give reasoned explanations for what they have discovered. To support them in this, they learn to use an increasing range of specialist vocabulary.
These skills and scientific knowledge will support the children as they prepare for secondary school.
