Personal and Social Health Education forms an important part of the curriculum. From the time they enter school children are taught to have regard for themselves, their physical and personal well-being and the well-being of other children. They also learn about their place in the wider world, this includes addressing issues such as bullying and racism.
In year 5 and 6 Sex Education is taught in an atmosphere which is positive, supportive and non-threatening. Parents are given the opportunity to view the material used, discuss its content with staff and have the right to withdraw their child from all or part of the sex education offered by informing the Headteacher in writing.
