Newsletter 8 – 2017/18 – 12th December 2017

Happy New Year! Bonne Année!

Welcome back after the Christmas holidays. We hope you all had a restful break. The children have all come back to school with positive attitudes and we are looking this term for ways in which the children can feel proud of themselves, or someone they know. Look out for their ‘proud because’ moments outside Mrs Greer’s office.

Crossing Patrol

If you use the crossing patrol to come to school, could you please ensure that you supervise your child as they approach the crossing so that Hampshire County Council Crossing Patrol staff can make sure the road is safe for you and your child. Thank you.

Parking

Please do not park across dropped kerbs in the surrounding streets, as it affects our neighbours.

Online and Social Media Safety

We know that a lot of parents use Facebook for their social media, but in line with our safeguarding policy, can we please ask that you do not mention anybody else’s child by name who are pupils that attend our school in any comments that you may post.

Regarding online safety for children, Hampshire County Council and Hampshire Police have liaised with each other to put together some helpful advice on Hampshire County Council’s website

https://www.hants.gov.uk/socialcareandhealth/childrenandfamilies/safeguardingchildren/onlinesafety

If your child has access to the internet at home, you may find it helpful for them to be aware and to have viewed this website:

Helpful advice is also available from the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) website:

https://www.nspcc.org.uk/preventing-abuse/keeping-children-safe/online-safety/

The following website might be of interest to parents of children who use PC, Xbox, PS4 gaming consoles or any device that allows children to play games on line.
