Children in 4S are looking forward to their next homework challenge. Here’s what happened last time.
My teacher said I could do anything I wanted to about Egypt for my homework, and when she saw my sarcophagus she was amazed!
Me and my dad made a sarcophagus out of wood. My dad made a body shaped hole in it so my model mummy would fit and we got some bandages and dyed them in tea so it went the right colour, then I painted it yellow and when it was dry I did hieroglyphics on it.
To sum up, I really enjoyed making it and in my next homework I’ll make something else. By Lewis
When my teacher said I could do whatever I wanted for homework, I did something about Egypt and made a Sphinx, pyramids and a mummy.
It was mostly made out of cardboard and was hard work, but the mummy was made out of cardboard and toilet paper.
And after that I put sand all over my sphinx and pyramids. I also did writing in hieroglyphics – can you read what it says? By Leo
When my teacher said we could do anything to do with Egypt I already knew what I would do! That day I came running home and that second I went to my dad and asked him if we could make a wooden pyramid together. So we did! Because my dad is a plasterer he was a great help and that made me his little helper.
On one day I went to my dad’s workshop to WORK on it, yes it was tiring but it was worth it. Then we worked on it at home in the conservatory for the rest of the time. We used wood from B&Q for the actual pyramid, plaster for the base and sand on top of the plaster.
When I handed in my pyramid it had to come in a plastic bag because of the rain. My teacher was amazed!!!!!! It was very fun and I enjoyed it a lot. By Isobel
